When we started introducing solids to our little Thomas a couple of months ago, we knew we wanted him to eat the same foods as we do. But… it has to be without added salt and sugar. Our parent friends have also voiced frustrations over the amount of salt in shop-bought pesto. “Adding a bit of pesto to pasta – ah, it would make mealtimes so much easier …”, repeated everyone.
So here it is – Pasta e Basta’s own Pesto Per Bambini. No salt, no nuts, no other nasty stuff. Whether you’re starting to wean your baby or trying to come up with school lunchbox ideas – we surely don’t need to tell you how versatile pesto can be.
TIP: Once opened, cover the pesto with a layer of olive oil and use it within 4 days. We suggest to just dollop it on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze. Transfer frozen pesto portions to a freezer bag until ready to use.
